Monthly Commentary

Last year, this event was considered one of the top 5 family events to attend in an article by Edmonton Journal.  We are pleased to host this second event in collaboration with Canadian Multicultural Education Foundation (CMEF) - celebrating Canada 150 and cultural heritage.

We are very pleased to start with the opening ceremony at noon with Lion Dancing and Drumming Performances.   We are looking forward to have greetings provided by: MP Ziad Aboultaif (Edmonton Manning), MP Kerry Diotte (Edmonton Griesbach), MLA Nicole Goehring (Edmonton Castle Downs) and MLA Chris Nielsen (Edmonton Decore).   The adults are getting excited to see their children perform in the talent portrion and/or sharing their cultural heritage in their fashion!  We are just as excited to help create the bridge or connection for the multicultural communities, families and children with the various businesses who have sponsored and are involved in the event.  Building opportunities through interactions as business and communities work together in celebration during this long weekend.

We hope you can join us at the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.  With over 15 tents and many companies showcasing their products and/or services, come and check out what the various vendors have to offer for your companies, your clients and your connections.   Make new connections, new relationships or catch up with those you haven't seen for while!  We look forward to seeing you if you can join us.    (SUN SEP 3 EVENT DETAILS)

Whatever your plans are for this long weekend, wishing for great weather for everyone to enjoy, many laughter and fun as we take a break.

On a more serious note, public consultation is happening right now for the proposed changes affecting you and I as business owners, affecting the clients we work with and help, affecting our communities and our families and our strategic plans going forward.   How will these changes materially impact our marketing, our operating expense, our bottom line?  If you have input to give or know of individuals who are being affected by proposed changes at the Federal Level, we encourage you to contact your respective MPs.   Some of them are hosting forums for public consultations.   MP Ziad Aboultaif just hosted one on Wednesday August 30, other MPs have events being planned over the next few weeks.

Furthermore, the upcoming Municipal Election has certainly raised to the top many issues for discussions for each Candidates to take note of in what's important to their ward.   We have received many questions from our registrations for the upcoming event Sep 28 which we are looking forward to hearing the Candidates respond to.  On September 28, the format will be World Class Cafe style.   Please join us and let's get heard as your vote counts a great deal.  To RSVP for Sep 28 event, please see details below.
